THE MOON COMES HOME (III)A Poem by Ray FronteraThoughts on Love & Loss...or does it mean something else?THE MOON COMES HOME (III) The moon is coming home tonight, if only just this once. She says if I cross my fingers, she’ll wear a special crown. She promises endless kisses, enough to reach deep down. The last time that she left my side, I waved goodbye for hours. Not wanting to risk disfavor or have her doubt my love, her glow is what I crave the most- I below, she above She’ll slip away as usual through grey and darkened clouds, as melancholy as my heart. I’ll miss her intently, but will abide the emptiness, ‘til her return, gently. Then I will welcome her once more, since love is forever- provided it is deep and true. (of this she assures me). Never would I doubt her wisdom, or try to disagree. So when the moon comes home tonight, I’ll applaud her lush crown. ...instead of begging her to stay. If only she would stay... 2009 RAY FRONTERA © 2009 Ray FronteraAuthor's Note
