Metaphysical Rebirth

Metaphysical Rebirth

A Poem by Kryss Jobes
"

Outside of my comfort zone, working with a different structure.

"

Within that eternal dark abyss
Playground of plagued memories
To sing and dance and laugh at you
Torment you with their lilting guilt
Daunting shadows closing in
Trapping, reaching, circling, shrieking
Bleary tendrils probing closer
Sinking in, through, around you

Hopes and dreams convert, diminish
Dance and skip beyond your grasp
To reach and struggle with no avail
Despite desire to rise triumphant
Further plunged into resentment
Tumbling, spiraling, crashing, craving
Arms of darkness stretch to catch
Hold close, tight and cradle you

Fear and strife feed the beast
The silent hunger never sated
Slow and steady essence lost
Weary of different thinking
Thoughts of norm for replacement
Draining, changing, sculpting, spawning
Completely stripped of spirit kind
Original thoughts do not exist
