About a Girl(old)

About a Girl(old)

A Poem by Heather Christine

There once was a girl.
She was left for dead.
Left all alone.
Crying, crying out.

She screamed inside
Wanting something more.
Filled with heartache.
All was... disappointing.

Looking for silver linings.
Nothing. Dull. Bare.
Looking for something.
It was once there

She still searches the sky.
But... what's there?
Something that can save her?
Maybe. Possibly.

She hopes, wishes.
She NEEDS something.
Some to save her.
She DARES to dream.

Not ready for heartbreak.
Never is.
Should she think it inevitable?
It always is...

Still, she hopes and dreams.
Waits for something better.
For her life to turn around.
No longer feel pain.

She dreams of the other side.
Where the grass is greener.
She hopes to get there. Someday.
Sooner than later?

She sits. Crying.
In her own space.
She waits.
Take her hand.

Be there till the end.
Take her hand.
