"Love is action." Yes, in all the small ways we may never know the impact of. Well penned.
That's precisely why we (my son and I) choose the Methodist denomination for our Christian fellowship. They expect you to study and understand for yourself what you believe and why, and to demonstrate your faith through service -- not because it will earn you brownie points, but because, when we are in right relationship with God, we WANT to demonstrate our love and gratitude to Him by being the good stewards He asks us to be.

Thanks for a lovely worded description about the Methodist church! I'm always interested in learning more about other denominations of Christianity! I agree with that paragraph %100! :)

Y'know, I'm not really a firm adherent to any denomination. We must have Christian fellowship to grow and remain strong in our Faith. But, when I had trailed away from Faith, and was trying to find my way back, I tried many, many denominations and quite a few other faiths. When I came to a Methodist church, I was impressed with their educated perspective towards faith. The fundamentalist churches I'd grown up in had always told us what to believe and what we should interpret the Word as saying. But, Methodist church said to study it, read it in context for yourself; follow the concordance and learn how passages relate to the times and to other passages in the Word. They also encouraged theological writings and studies as companion pieces to the Word. And, then, they expect you to decide for yourself. I was amazed. They actually WANT you to use your brain. And the way they embrace every child has a completely actualized person, rather than some little mini-human reflection astonished me -- and this was long before I had children. I couldn't think of any denomination I'd more happily to be part of. I was also impressed with the people; of all the groups I tried out, the Methodists seemed to most often live what they claimed. It was a revelation to me that there really were people who lived the faith they claimed, and that it was the faith I understood in the Word.

I like this idea ^^ we show our love through action, or at least we should, some days are better than others and it is easy to show love and other days it can be harder.

And I totally agree! It can be so hard to show love through our actions! Whenever I feel that way I read 1 Corinthians 13 because it reminds me of how I should be acting: out of love! :)
