star light, star bright

star light, star bright

A Poem by Pia Van Ravestein
"

part of the 'coupling' series

"

star light, star bright

that i would cling to you like wild wisteria,

tumble my purple blossoms about your arms,

wreath my gloss-green leaves about your musk-scent.

instead a slug in the core of you

and eat your new growth

sleep in the very heart of your deep secrets

eat them too.

no. a thorn-crowned starfish, to crucify the reef of your lips

rend your wonders barren.

rend your coral thoughts with my sharp-toothed mouth,

chew out your marrow.

that I would hold you like a lover,

breathe your breath, fill my fathomless lungs.

instead... this feral me,

to outgrow the growth of you,

to destroy the home I have in you.

This piece was intense and I liked the imagery it invoked - the angry sea as a lover. Great!
Enjoy the day with a smile to share ;-)
