the things we say

the things we say

A Poem by Pia Van Ravestein
"

part of the 'coupling' series.

"

the things we say

you forget i exist.

you say i make you hate me.

you touch with bored fingers

you grope with tired palms.

you enfold me in a body

patient enough to coax

an undulating response

that only serves you.

you say you care for me.

you could patent your supposed care

and sell it cheap at WA Salvage,

they’d buy it there.
