you and me

you and me

A Poem by Pia Van Ravestein
"

part of the 'coupling' series

"

you and me

a lake invading the chasm

pain striation, a violent Kimberley hue

stretches you

you are rock and water, red orange and green

dust drying a hand and grand erosion

of my land

you are rock and water, a lake invading the chasm

dust drying a hand and grand erosion

i am anchored and anchor

my tendril roots        my snake bird branches

sip from you                  find support in you

anchored in the ground your rock and me

my sparse leaves a tribute to the sky
