dysphoric

dysphoric

A Poem by Pia Van Ravestein
"

part of the 'cephalopod' series

"

dysphoric

i shall split my seams.

burst over until needles

bury invasive within    sedate

and end me.

my prosthetic pen and plastic hand

send signals to my Styrofoam brain.

the fuel is watered-down      blood.

it usually drives the words down,

tonight it just drives them away.

i have sewn my own mouth shut.

words lurk;       light-shy tadpoles

in the saliva under my tongue.

i shall keep my unrest

and pretend it’s        peace.

Those are some strong words that you're using!
This poem impressed me.
The first stanza didn't hold my interest well, but by the end I was in love with the poem.
Great poetry.
Work a little on your opening, and it will be ten times better.
:]
