To Be Alone

To Be Alone

A Poem by Raven Madd

Is it right to have to choose
Whether to share my curse
Or seek something I couldn't bear to lose?
I'm still not sure what's worse.
I can only hope that my words
Coupled with genuine actions
Finds purchase that cannot be deterred
And spurs mutual passions.

One can only hope,
But hope alone does not resolve
The problems with which I cope.
Only acting upon my mistakes will absolve
Me from my misery, or rather
Doom me to a life of wondering
If I could have had her
Had not I made this mistake;
Wondering for wondering's sake.
