en route mortality

en route mortality

A Poem by Raven Wyntermoon

The fish swam up stream one day.

Dear friend I have come so far and it would be a shame if you are not able to swim in this sea of blue with me. Or even bathe in the sun with our bellies up.

Perhaps, we can even glide through that undertow and feel liquid air weaving through our scales.

We can leap as we slice through that aqueous ceiling letting the sunlight shine through the evanescent drops.

There is no time to spare since the tide of our nesting ground is bidding us to return.
