Uncooperative actorsA Poem by Raven Marie ShadowsA little piece I wrote about the way it fills to deal with expectations you don't feel you fit and how it taints your interactions with people.
We wear these roles
(cast on us by the audience) like ill-fitting hand-me-down clothes no style no flair (we don't want to be here) reciting unrehearsed lines at the top of our lungs this fight takes us nowhere (the responses are censored) parred down to a parody of itself I want to rip off this cloak of obscurity (reveal the truth you hide from me) see your heart and soul in their true impurity we still know the parts expected (No dress rehersals no script) and we play them up to hide the reality before our minds snap and lead to the relapse (I keep hoping this stage will collapse) back to our true forms and the life we lead when the curtains close. © 2010 Raven Marie ShadowsAuthor's Note
