The unforgiving truth

The unforgiving truth

A Poem by RavenShadow

I walked into a battlefield,
A single tulip remains,
In time the deaths will be forgotten
Many sacrifices were made
Deep in the soil
Blood still remains
I believe I still see bullets
I wish this never happens again
Empathy was forbidden
On the front line
Their intentions were limpid
Their brains turned to ice
I wish a path of redemption
It gleams in my hazel eyes
A wren sits among the field
In the field where many had died
