The twin nurse to her dying brother

The twin nurse to her dying brother

A Poem by RavenShadow
"

A poem about a nurse losing her twin brother to cancer.

"
She can feel his dying skin,
The beautiful stranger fighting cancer from within
He's obedient to the nurse who is his twin
She is always in a hurry,
She knows his time is short,
She tells him to count the chickens
drawn on the wall.

She tries to make him remember
All the good times they had,
The rhymes she used to tell him,
they used to drive him mad.
He knows shes always calculating, how much time is left.

But in the middle of the night,
When everyone is asleep and well
The heart monitor explodes with noise
Then all is at rest.

Thank you for entering the 10 Words I Give Contest. Such a sad story! Cancer is such a monster. You've incorporated each word into the story nicely. If we can count sheep, surely we can count chickens, too. LoL Kudos and hope to see you next round!
