Journal Entry #4A Story by Madison
“You are bossy!”
Just because someone tells you that, doesn’t mean take it as an insult. It comes down to how you hear it and process it. For a long time, I took this as an insult. Now, when someone says this to me, I hear, “You have leadership skills.” You can still come across as bossy though. There is a difference between bossy, and having leadership skills. Watch your tone, speak calmly(not demanding), include a please and thank you when telling someone something. That will make a bigger impact, and it separates you being bossy(as a coworker), to showing actual leadership skills. You might be seen as more mature/responsible, and be given more duties. Just process what you’re gonna say; make sure it’s respectful and kind, before you speak. © 2020 Madison |
