What is it to love?

Perhaps one day I'll know

I do not understand the beat of love 

How can one's heart be filled with such desire? 

I hear the words of flame people speak of 

But I cannot quite feel that kind of fire. 

What is it to place one above all else? 

To want to give them all that you can give

That with a glance you feel as your heart melts 

To find that one that makes you want to live. 

What is it like to feel you're not alone 

and love them for all of thier faults and charms 

so on your heart you feel their name is sewn 

and you can't wait to run into their arms 

Perhaps one day I'll understand this all 

Perhaps one day I will feel my heart fall.

I don't know much about poetry so I'm sorry if this is awful. I'm trying to improve my writing quality but I still have a lot of work to do ;)
