Rivers of NovemberA Poem by Raven Starhawk
Rivers of November ripple and divide
Wandering barefoot beams of truth light recovery road Jaded tides crash Season falls into deathly hallows Dracula sips a black house nightmare A goblet's content is a sorcerer's business In stone ages a hell bound heart weeps Twisting trails prolong time Still under tragedy’s shade, healing hands fold Legends of devotion surpass righteous leaders Mountain pastures so callow in infinite skies wake Dark eyes open Silver clouds billow all around In the shadows time is lost Desert sand takes residence in my mouth Heaven's tears splash on my face Destiny blows flecks of sun colored skin Hollow wishes devour empty dreams Tomorrow is yesterday; a handful of ashes Twilight roses quiver From their petals dew tears fall Past midnight they weaken Time was never here Stainless cold blue steel illuminated in the moonlight Avenge the shade of dawn Before the twilight of queen, secrets I keep Channels run far and wide yet narrow The voice that rolls past them is sweet Silk woven lies cursed her words Forever do they harness cruelty Deceiver of nations, hate decays the heart Whispers caress the darling winds of July Like a feather they skim delicate fibers A somber shadow shrouds me © 2015 Raven Starhawk
