Roses On Lace

Roses On Lace

A Poem by Raven Starhawk

Fingers tangled in satin fringes,
Eyes staring into empty space,
A wedding dress baring bleeding roses,
She welcomes sharp steel kisses
While feeling her body grow cold.

Fingers curled around a steak knife's handle
Eyes wide with loathing
A tuxedo dawning crimson spots
He welcomes the spasm of her flesh
While feeling his blade bury itself.
