The Death Seekers

The Death Seekers

A Poem by Raven Starhawk

The moment draws nigh

to account for all I have discerned

I pray it is sufficient to salvage

forthcoming generations from the fate bestowed unto me

  The abominations after my head

 are beyond limitations

To disease or death as they are immune

 and above physical boundaries

  Without human disadvantages

they rule cosmos as superior Ancient Entities…

… as Gods

Though a treacherously mystical breed

 whose sect is undeniably great

I have dedicated my life

to researching their potential

but they are a cryptic bunch

Their numbers are impossible to calculate…

… authority omnipotent and absolute

Perhaps there is a way to negotiate destiny

Or perhaps I am too late

For they are here

To collect their sworn foe

My flesh is their bread

And my blood their wine
