Decaying Brain Matter

Decaying Brain Matter

A Poem by Raven Starhawk

Scrawled across the wall in a shade of bitter red are passages worthy of dread

For bumps and bruises do little to halt sweaty salt...
...across furrowed eyebrows and rotting sows

Needles and pins pierce wrinkled gray as it fashions decay

Left now are only memories of a time without pain and the insane
