A Killing Mind

A Killing Mind

A Poem by Raven Starhawk

Devil's daughter bent over a bleeding rose...
...searching for father's hand in netherworld's ritual...
...as venom swims a green river...
...and finds a animal room in a killing mind

The first line grabbed me and put me into a trance, I envisioned this beautiful demon goddess bent over a rose while it bleeds it's own color red which is it's blood. Does that make any sense to you? It's what I saw. Raven, you are a unique one of a kind writer of dark poetry. I hope you are not offended by that.

Dear goodness, you've struck a chord with this, yet not, not a write i'd normally read! You create such pictures in the mind, a series of dark paintings - not ones i'd hang on my wall.. but how powerful they are!
