infested by deliriums

A Poem by Raven Starhawk

Perversity sheds a rancorous tear for witless curiosities…

…as a battered descendant cowers in a trap …

…and rented souls depart for a higher plateau

No more hammering fists or raised intonations

This cadaver is interminably fragmented

This expiring mentality is infested by deliriums

I see a girl crying out for her tormented soul. She is trapped within her own mind, thinking about the things she's done. Higher beings come from the heavens to aid her but she pushes them away not wanting any help at all. Im in a courtroom where people are hammering fists down in objection for her own crime. She looks up smiling at them not knowing why for she too is in pieces neither the audience knows why. We end with her alone back in her room where her mentality has gone down to nothingness. Very well written as always.
