Lunar Eclipse

Lunar Eclipse

A Poem by Raven Starhawk
"

Dedicated to my sis Sarah Kawamura

"

I perceive the sun as he once was…

…just another oppressive astronomical article

As he descends behind the vista and his opposite materializes …

…he still smolders for another day

I perceive the moon as she once was…

…incessantly deprived of her sun

As she births a new phase and her opposite leisurely surfaces …

…she still yearns for reunification

Then at last she passes amid him and Earth

And enchantment transpires…

…for a diminutive occasion…

…before the wait claims another few years

Oh Raven, you always get me. I love the imagery that came to mind as I read. Like to lovers the sun and moon collide.. passing amid the earth... sigh.. this put a smile on my face today..xo

Oh my... you have entwined the sun and the moon into a smoldering piece. His sun to her moon is pure magic... Earth has no choice but to be enchanted by their smoldering lunar eclipse. I am mesmerized in the enchantment of this piece as well! Excellent write.

Wise, and rich, you felt the connection between them all...
It has all such a calculating wisdom behind it, and
A heart's compass to follow...~
Exellent science poetry here.
I think you're from one of the three brightest
Stars... they recently found proximus....

This is uniquely thought out, a potent subject brought to life through your words...gives the event a tangible, romantic aura!

Love the vision in this piece! Well written!

This is great writing and certainly worth coming back too. Oppressive and astronomical next to each other may take away from the "flow" a little bit but I enjoyed this very much.
