October Creeper

October Creeper

A Poem by Raven Starhawk

Fall’s elemental anonymities twirl in earthly tones

Purpose for celebration soon collapses season

As pessimism creeps upon catastrophe’s hand and forages death’s patience

It will come

Without caveat and yet caveat to some degree...

…it will come and pluck you out of this universe

Underlying dimensions swallow ignorance

While knowledge pollutes a damaged conscious

I could feel myself get smaller in fear of death and what's to come.. I felt paranoid like looking around in wonder and waiting.. so job well done.. you moved me :) xo

Great write for the season. Haunting with emotion and imagery. Nicely done.
