Ten Shades of Hate

Ten Shades of Hate

A Poem by Raven Held

Ten Shades of Hate

The belting gale
Whispers
The secrets forgotten,
The secrets no-one knew;
Cold fires
Burn
With the rage inside us,
The rage that consumes us whole;
Bruised skies
Tear
The world apart
With the furious roar of rain.
We are not meant
To take on the blame;
We are not meant
To shoulder the pain.

Author's Note

Raven Held
I wrote it on a particularly stormy morning, hence the imagery. Hope it doesn't come off too cliched.
