Flickering Truths of TomorrowA Poem by Raven HeldNameless faces and faceless names, Peering out with stained souls slain; Lying snug in their deceit, Pressing flat on swollen conceit. Ritual lies that prick on their soles, Spun tales weeping their merry woes. To the liar and the lied, The keeper and the kept, The laugher and the laughed at, And the fleeting souls they met, Hazy imprints of hands in the sand Return as a backwash of regret, Shaking heads, Frowning glares, Innocence in wilderness spent. The next moment of truth conceals The tales once known and the lies one yields. Nameless faces and faceless names, Recovering their armours, chinked and stained With the words unsaid And the truths retained.
