Sins of the fatherA Poem by Eager to LearnMy thought on a man...
You've given me some
A name, A life, Half of a face But you were never there never in a parents' place I see you only on occasion In the stars we find our chance meet my confidence ebbing away And my mind hid and covered by a sheet I'm told I owe you nothing But to any being I give all My feelings go out to everyone This is how happiness enters my thrall I leach my joy from others Through contentment given I too receive. but to you I owe nothing and now Im staring to believe You have other children you're seed sewn to god knows who And now I here of your crime Still I pray it isn't true In a cage higher powers send you for my kin you have chastised your own children? Now I'm told you're to be despised You've given me some A name, A life, Half of a face but you didn't raise me for that I thank god's grace My name is Link Now take it back
