LET NOT WITHER THE LEAVES OF LOVEA Poem by M.A.RathoreLife takes time to grow.Once my father gave me A seed to grow Of love and care I kept him for A long time I had But never tried To provide him The ground he needed Thus I spent my youth With no roots and no leaves No plant of the seed As the turning of time In summer I remembered I should put the seed in Under the heart of The ground he desires A few days later I observed in him There comes two green And fleshy off-shoots Sprung up from The depth dwelled heart There were a number Of deadly insects Around the two-leaved plant He feared of being Eaten up or withered Due to adverse flow of time Without being protected He searched someone To love and care He found a beloved With whom he felt Much relieved and Dreamt to grow under Her deep affection Two more off-shoots Had been grown Making four in all Under her protection and care Though she was not Serious about him But perhaps she had A hidden love Being a young one oneday He requested her To take care the green off-shoots He has developed With her tender care Lest they should fade In the dust of time's adversity. -M.A.Rathore © 2014 M.A.RathoreReviews
