It has been a long time.

It has been a long time.

A Poem by Rassoul
"

Some words about someone who has left.

"
Hello,
Do you remember me?

I'm the person who loved you the most

I'm the one who accepted your flaws

And never tried to change them

Where did you go?

The world's been so dark since you've left

Why did you leave?

You said that I'm not the right person

But who is?

Who can treat you better than me?

Who can give you the same amount of love that I gave you?

Everything's changed since you've left

I feel like a lonely boat floating above a huge ocean

But after a while

I know I will sink

And no one will be there to help

I need you, come back

It has been a long time

A long time feeling so lonely.

Good job of showing the way an obsessive mind can run thru questions, trying to find the answer to why someone does not want to be with him/her. I notice you use many ideas that suggest that the narrator thinks he/she did the best anyone could do. But these things don't always add up to "love" . . . it's not adoration that creates good relationships. I'd love to see you delve a little deeper into what makes a relationships memorable -- more than just the moaning about superficial things -- but what did these two people DO together & what did they SHARE -- details make a message more relatable, I think. But all in all your message is true to life.

like wind, rain and snow, people come and people go .. nothing stays the same, or be that way again .. we have to get used to it and move on .. glad I came across these words .. it looks like a long time since they were last visited .. I hope more will now follow me here .. they deserve been resurrected .. Neville

Rassoul,
"It has been a long time."
How many ask the question you state in line one:
"Hello
do you remember me?"
this in itself lends a feeling of commonality to anyone who has past memories-relationships now gone? this is a really good question.
line, 3: "I'm the person who loved you the most."
Yes, love as is said can be "blind".
This poem is like a sales pitch, a contest of who, (yourself) tried the hardest, gave the most. Love is quite a powerful emotion.
I found this one to be very telling in it's portrayal of your feelings at this time of your life. It is refreshing to see an honest reminiscence of past love. I expect through time you will continue to question, grow and learn relation-ally and become ever more canny in the ways of this life.
Bless you much!
Kathy

It's a short piece yet there are thousands of emotions and experience within it. This is the essence of poetry, to express anything effectively. This is full of feelings and it hurts as I read it. Keep writing!

I agree with barlygirl!
...
out of the poem context (sorry): for me, real love is to know how to "let go" ... it is hard but much more light and beautiful for both ...

Sometimes there are no answers. Our hearts are laid out, stretched to the limit and still they are trampled upon. Unfortunately the search for those who would hurt us is in vain and we must move on.

This is very earnest and romantic, although i was always a believer that when a person decides to leave, we're better off without them. Lovely penned :)

Wajiha, Thanks a lot!
A lot of emotions in the words. Sometimes what we want is what we don't need. Love is a two-way street. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
