Tripping On WordsA Poem by RasputinMy take on poetry.
Poetry is like good acid- it makes you see things in a new light
It gives you pause for thought, time to reconsider It opens doors in your mind you didn't know were there Poetry is the white rabbit A poem can make the mundane, day-to-day drudgery come alive like a haunted house filled with mental patients It can bore a hole into the fabric of reality and let you see through to the other side Poetry is what's behind the two-way mirror Poetry lets you see behind the camera lens Poetry is what's behind door number three It's the forgotten reality, hidden by the thin film of conscious thought It's the feeling you get when you realize that the insane man in the straitjacket might have been right all along It's what you see through the window when you're on the train It's what you see when you close your eyes It's the room above the ceiling and buried under the basement floor It's a trip Someday it will be illegal © 2012 RasputinFeatured Review
