ColdA Poem by JenessaThe cold leeches everything from you.
Alone but not lonely
Cold filling lungs Chill penetrating deeper Than razor-edged tongues For the price of a footstep Leave your bubble of warm Where the ground has no feelings Where the snow is your home Lay like a child Shivering and numb Cold takes your worries And reduces them to none A life for the price Of a footstep astray In a blanket of snow Where the dreams never stay © 2010 Jenessa |
