Viewed you so highly

Viewed you so highly

A Poem by Michal Adams
"

Uhm, I don't know.

"
Upon getting into this,
I didn't know what to expect.
Men say such strange things
About a girl they never met.

Like how you break people.
Tear them down to the ground.
So when I found out I fell for you
I didn't quite know what I had found.

But the first few weeks
Changed what I had thought.
All rumors I heard about you,
You brushed them off.

You made me love you.
Like a flower attracts a bee.
And for a rather long time.
I thought you were right for me.

I viewed you so highly,
above the clouds of other peoples thoughts.
And all the bad things.
I had been taught.

And than one day,
With flowers in my hand.
I came to your door.
I thought you'd like to see your man.

And when you answered it.
You looked so sad.
So I asked what was wrong.
And you simply said don't be mad.

She told me she didn't love me
But that it had been fun.
And that for a single moment,
she thought I was the one.

But now she changed her mind,
and appearently,
My friends had been right.
If I had listened to them I wouldn't have had to go through this night.
