Helene's Hell

Helene's Hell

A Poem by Marlon Ferguson
"

Poem I wrote while tropical storm Helene hit Asheville, NC. Woke up at 4:00 a.m. with power knocked out. I sat watching a candle burn for several minutes before these lines revealed themselves.

"

Dancing Flames

Light up the Night.

Reassuring with its Light,

All that is or was before.

All that will be…Evermore.

Singing swells

Of Helene’s Howl

Hold us captive in its bowel.

Roaring blindly to the End

Where Time and Universe begin.

Wanton rains…

O, harsh caress!

Pray leave Fawn and Flora blessed.

Extinguish not, in fits and starts,

The Dancing Flames within our Hearts.

Thank you, Writergurl! I appreciate your input.
AHHHH Marlon, your muse appeared...which is so great. I always enjoy this type of writing as I love metaphors and they often appear in my writing... unplanned...
I wrote a poem about my own death Forevermore that you might enjoy.
Life is so short and I really think that we do not realise this until we are older... maybe after we are 60ish...
I really enjoyed your words and structure.
