SurvivorA Poem by Marlon FergusonJust an observation...Time marches on The good days are not gone You’re a survivor Power drives the levers of control Hatred seeks the bottom of our soul Money travels anywhere it pleases Sex can never satisfy, it teases Find faith in yourself And rely on nothing else You’re a survivor
Lawyers claim to rule the planet Earth Doctors know what’s best for us at birth God may lend his hand if we reach out Satan laughs whenever we’re in doubt Live through your own eyes Don’t be fooled by their disguise You’re a survivor
Conscience is the savior of mankind History is the teacher of the mind Progress always seems to have its way Solace is the price we always pay Hope can never fade So continue unafraid You’re a survivor Magic is the dream of what can be Music is the light that helps us see Forests are the mothers of the air Water is the lover we all share
Lao Tzu says “the Now” becomes “the Way” Forget about tomorrow, live today
