Why, IndeedA Poem by Marlon Ferguson...just an observationWhy, when in a dream replete (Some monument or renowned park), A fellow tripper quick decries The glories at their jaded feet By raving over bygone larks, As if beneath abhorrent skies?
They flit and fume or blandly cry For loftier, high-status places; Where mere participation proves Exclusive membership thereby, Like former lover’s lost embraces Shine beyond one’s present love,
Awake and smell our roses, too! Your vanity remains intact. No shame attends rekindled pleasure. A marvel’s cast in front of you! (There’s still a chance you could go back) This, too, will be tomorrow’s treasure© 2024 Marlon FergusonReviews
