Tale of A MartyrA Poem by Laurence BellingerAs i inhale A second wind engulfs me My skin Once brittle Now as hydrated as my thirst (Can i take a sip? Mmm....) My strength is back My sight can peer beyond the pier A fully functioning nose AndAs i inhale A second wind engulfs me My skin Once brittle Now as hydrated as my thirst (Can i take a sip? Mmm....) My strength is back My sight can peer beyond the pier A fully functioning nose And two ears to hear My stench Fades as my existence is imminent My heart still beats for another minute Still willing to give it all for the world- And that's how this story of life again ends and how real life begins... All i see is pain Negative souls no positive gains The truth has becomed pimped Once it lies down Honesty is a condiment Like paying extra for ketchup And the fries is the subject that needed flavor from tomatoes Man can't live on bread alone I brought you fruitage of the spirit And the first time i fed the people with kindness That angel of light costumed devil Did his best to keep them in blindness Not the one to complain But i look at what's done in my name Defamed I'm ashamed how my name was taken in vain I asked you to walk with me I see stagnant representation Saying you must pay to walk with the Savior I told you to focus on the spirit Ya'll idolized religion Don't you know The Father and I Have never been Christians Stop judging He hasn't shorten any sentences He who has no zit Shall have the fix for all blemishes Let the father rationalize who receives the gift Proactive to uplift Spread the message of love That's a real christian The blood ties look evident The eyes peer into his soul His heart His motivation Is seeking righteousness and showing the light of love The world would come aglow Like your native star Providing warmth to humanity The shine would counquer the darkness in it deepest Spirited fruits yield Food for the soul in its purest Proper spiritual diet Let the truth of life be your water And for those reasons... Is why i chose to become a martyr!
