Bees

Bees

A Poem by .

During the last ten years
One after another every day
Throat dry like bones
Some ugly horrible creature
In surges
Over took my body
And I lay in the sun light
The moonlight
The the bathtub
In every space inside my mind and in between the places I could never go
I sat and waited
Each dream cancelled and neglected like the last

What's the point of this story?
Velvet lips on white cream waiting at cross walks
Bubble gum chewing and finger snapping
With leather shoes
And bra straps pressing creases in my shoulders
This is not some kind of erotica
Turn down your bad music
Your teeth gaps blazing
You won't find some sort of haven
This is blank
Nasty
Pulsating
And nervous
Sweaty palms and a putrid smell
Pushing you into corners
Grabbing at your pockets
Where the middle of the room is black

Next to next to
Lining up
Combing hair and rolling it into balls and swallowing it
Mascara stinging eyes
And Biting your nails and staring at your cellphone
I mean come on get over yourself
Either die or don't die
The dreams- not you
Do it or don't
I don't really care
But don't keep talking about it
a hive full of bees in your ears
Gnawing at the tissue
Your headache is coming
Bend down for water
This is erotica of your mind and universe
Pollinate your wave lengths
What's the point of this story?
It's not really an exciting story
You want to see more?
The photo became famous
He projected her to the moon
And when he was too sick to walk
She said well s**t I tried
And flanked down the street
Bubble gum snapping

And home turned into hospice
And hospice into home
And tiles into maps he never wrote down
But the bees were still there
He was hardly a man

Then Less
And
Less
Then none.

And his heart stopped and he lay opened mouthed
And they crawled out on his outstretched tongue
Down his neck
And onto his neighbors bed
With smiles stitched like laces up my leg
Unable to speak
They burrowed through the scabs
Churning their tails and laying eggs
Turning into maggots
And writhing in joy
Smelling awful
The flowers didn't distract them
There was no remedy
