Yes women can do anything they want and should never be told otherwise, but I would caution you (wow I really hate when people tell me that, so hopefully it comes across different here) not to go out into the world with a confrontational attitude about it. I can say that in my (albeit) short time, I have never experienced discrimination due to my gender alone. I would just hate for you to create a problem for yourself that didn't need to be there. You seem like a very determined young woman, and we need those like you. It can be very easy to come too strong into a situation, however, and ruin any chances of success.
