When I Grow UpA Poem by Ranger Nadaly
I'll admit my faults.
Excuse myself when belching. Not cry during Fast and Furious 7. Stop snacking. Regret my grades. Laugh at my old pain. Cry at my new ones. Continue to believe in revenge. Not dress like a member of Grateful Dead. Relate to my family. Maybe. Get booze legally. Finally. Continue smoking marijuana. Ignore most men. Accept a man as my own. End that relationship. He finds me too childish. Take a yoga class. Quit a week later. Revolt at the death of a family member. Quit dressing to impress. Move to the suburbs to make a family. Leave the suburbs, disturbed. Become pregnant. Marry the father. I think its love. We don't know. Notice forehead wrinkles. Consider botox. Raise the child. He actually likes me as a teen. Drunkenly egg a church. Go to jail for two nights. School committee gives me the "tsk tsk". Actually fall in love with my husband. Son graduates. Break my arm. Adults don't skateboard.
