Big Toes

Big Toes

A Poem by Ranger Kessel

his toes were too big

to fit in a shoe

he needed a rig

and a semi truck too

to carry his hoofs

and his giant socks new

he sat up on roofs

while his toes simply grew

he fell with a clutter

a really big bang

he tripped in the gutter

he cried and he sang

oh heavens me

and my awful big toes

why doesn’t god see

i’m sure that he knows

how i’m such a mess

tripping around

without any shoes

bare feet on the ground

singing the blues

his angel was listening

and granted his wish

his new toes were glistening

with a magical swish

If it is not followed to hard there is genius laying around for the picking, like listening to Mozart in comparison to his contemporaries. Thanks for sharing.

Okay, I have to tell you, Ranger...
with things going on in this country right now....so much to be angry about, and yet here comes this poem to just totally lighten my morning...
like a good cup of coffee (if I drank coffee)---
thank you for this.

You know I do like a happy ending. A fun poem, a bit of light hearted nonsense. We all need to smile.
