Dance Emotion

Dance Emotion

A Poem by Bonnie Hines

Foot to the left, arms stretched out far

Head held up back straight and tall

Lips press a smile so graceful and sweet

Eyes curve upward such happiness they seep

We dance to provoke Emotion anew

In the breasts of those whose heartbeats are few

But when the dance is over and the steps are though

When your heart is restored and as good as new

What now is the dancer to you?

It was the dance that softened the heart of stone

The performer had no relation on its own.

Hello...

I understand the thought... but - always a but - but, some dancing is all about being WITH the partner while another form takes place as a Line Dance...

did you mean "steps are through"?

this is so good..and it reminds me of poetry...sometimes i feel like the poems and the writer aren't connected at all...that there is a distant part of us that writes, and the real us has no idea.

the French poet Rimbaud was an awful person in real life...yet he wrote the most beautiful poetry.

poetry is our dance...we engage with emotion, we are softened by what we write, while we are dancing with the muse...but when the dance is over...the result seems to be disconnected to us. almost like the muse was never our partner...but the dance remains.

Enjoyable read.
Very lovely piece

It reminds me of a Tango or latin beat, something that would be on the dance floor as the temperature climbs.

Marvellous! I had a tell-tale feeling of rhythm while I was reading it. "What now is the dancer to you?" Subtle innuendo of wistfulness.
