Ten Year Anniversary

Ten Year Anniversary

A Story by Randy Johnson

I've been living alone on my property for ten years. Mom and Dad moved to Sneedville ten years ago today on April 14, 2011. I found the house where they moved to online. It was a big fixer upper. It took Dad three months to get it fixed up.
Before Mom and Dad bought their house, the people who previously lived there made drugs, and the Police confiscated the house. Because of this, Mom and Dad got their house at a cheap price. I gave them $2000 that I saved up to help them rebuild their house. But when they moved, I had no idea that they would both die just two years later.
I've been living on this property since February of 1977. I was only five years old when I moved here. This property means more to me now than it once did because now I own it. But I truly do wish that Mom and Dad hadn't died. They wanted to move to Sneedville and I wanted this place all to myself. May Mom and Dad Rest In Peace.
