Back To The Future II: 30th AnniversaryA Story by Randy Johnson
Back To The Future Part II was released thirty years ago today on November 22, 1989. Even though some of the future predictions were stupid, it's my favorite of the three movies. 'SPOILER ALERT!' If you haven't seen this movie, please don't continue to read this.
The movie begins with Doc Brown returning to 1985 after traveling to 2015. He convinces Marty and Jennifer to return to 2015 with him to prevent Marty's kids from going to jail. After preventing his kids from going to jail, Marty buy a sports almanac that tells sports statistics from 1950-2000. He plans to place bets and become rich when he returns to 1985. But Doc learns about it, takes the book away from Marty and throws it away. Old Biff overhears them and learns that Doc invented a time machine. He grabs the book, steals the Delorean, travels back to 1955 and gives the almanac to his younger self. Young Biff then uses the almanac to get rich. When Marty, Jennifer and Doc return to 1985, all Hell has broken loose. Biff is now rich, powerful and corrupt. Marty also learns that his mom now has big b***s and is married to Biff. Marty is also horrified when he learns that Biff killed his dad. Doc and Marty return to 1955 to retrieve the almanac. They succeed but a bolt of lightning sends Doc and the Delorean back to 1885. Marty is trapped in 1955. But Doc hires Western Union to deliver a letter to Marty that gives information that can send Marty back to 1985. One thing that I loved was how this movie shows that greed can be a person's downfall. Marty's greed caused his town to go straight to Hell and even got his father killed. This is a great movie, but it doesn't seem like it's been 30 years since it came out. Time flies just like the Delorean. © 2019 Randy Johnson |
