That Movie Is A Disgrace!

That Movie Is A Disgrace!

A Poem by Randy Johnson
"

Even though this poem is fictional, I really do believe that 'The Last Temptation Of Christ' is an abomination.

"
I became very angry when I went to a DVD store.
I'll tell you why that I'm not going there anymore.
When I bought a DVD movie, the sales clerk offered to give me 'The Last Temptation Of Christ' for free.
I told that man that he had better get that movie away from me.
He didn't understand why I didn't want it.
When he insisted that I take it, I had a fit.
I didn't want that movie because in it, Jesus has sexual relations.
I told him to get it out of my face because it is an abomination.
I was so upset that I made him refund my money for the movie that I bought.
If you are thinking about going to that store, I recommend that you do not.

Just FYI: In The Last Temptation of Christ, Jesus only has "sexual relations" in a vision. The Devil is tempting Jesus to come down from the cross by showing Him the possibility of a normal quiet life. What we see is not promiscuity, but rather the simple joy of married life. This contrasts with the vision of power and glory Christ is given in Luke 4.

You may have other theological misgivings with the film, but if your primary criticism is that "Jesus has sexual relations" then I don't think you've really understood the plot, let alone what it's expressing and I would recommend you try watching the film again (assuming you actually watched it yourself in the first place).
