The Living StatueA Poem by GiftyA ballad of a lover who stood aside on the pedestal waiting fot true love missing out on opportunities, A story about many of us who are still searching in vainAnd here she goes Like a swirling charm Making us sway to her spell But I stand like a rock Anosmic She glided along like a dancer I was glued to her mystic moves But I stood like her majestys guard. Coz something was wrong As though something foretold And I stood along In rain and storm Guarding my poor old heart.
He who loves is a fool I said Coz he will never know Pain and gain The Pain of loving is so intense That even death will feel its sway Oh! Yes I loved But I don’t care Coz I am above all dis now Coz pain and gain had lost its glory When destiny came in my way
I dream of a land Where love is the only truth Where you cared for me and I cared For you. And thus I stood Just looking at you. © 2013 GiftyAuthor's Note
