Look About

Look About

A Poem by Randolph
"

It was stormy. I don't know....

"
Look About.

Because that's what I meant to say.
But I'd set that aside for a good long shout.
Of course something stumbled in my way.
Anger isn't what Anger is about.

Losing rhythm was never the plan.
Allowing my passion to pass into doubt.
No longer trusting this mockery of a land.
Love isn't what Love is about.

Mistakes led me outside solid walls.
Once secure, I'm now forced without.
No safety now either at beck or call.
Hope isn't what Hope is about.

And that storm slithers patient, near.
Safety denied now I'm put out.
An epic tempest this forthcoming fear.
Peace isn't what Peace is about.

New steps to make, all without a map.
How did I wander, mindlessly lose my route?
Each direction, breeze, impulse, a wicked trap.
Nothing isn't what Nothing is about.

Too far this journey has taken me.
My very being turned from inside out.
Nothing for it now but just to see.
Life isn't what Life is about.
