Bottled misery

Bottled misery

A Poem by Ramble On
"

My first attempt at poetry

"

The bottle's neck it sways …..

Glass...resting on the rim

Tanned liquid flows.....splashing gently

Issued from within

Wetted lips are warmed and stinging

A firey afterglow

How can it lift you high

Before raising you so low?

The alcohol is welcomed

The brian shakes familiar hand

The pain disolves just slightly

Thought..... a shifting sand

As feelings drift from reason

As memories start to dull

The comfort that surrounds is that

The bottle's still half full...

The cheating fluid alters

The drinkers inner soul

But back for more I stumble

Slipping further down the hole
