The Battle WithinA Poem by Israel 🇵🇷A powerful poem about a soldier battling inner darkness after war, depicting resilience, strength, and the journey toward healing through shared understanding and hope.He marched with honor, his duty clear, Through fields of chaos, through waves of fear. A soldier’s life, a hero’s pride, But the war he fights now is one inside. His boots once tread where silence screamed, Where life and death blurred into a dream. Memories etched in the scars he bore, Echoes of battles that lingered more. Now, in the quiet, the darkness stirs, A war of shadows, relentless, it purrs. Thoughts like whispers, sharp and cold, Telling stories he wishes weren’t told. Why am I here? What’s left of me? He asks the void no one can see. Yet deep in his chest, a light remains, A spark of strength through all the pain. He fights these shadows with every breath, Refusing to yield to the grip of death. The battlefield may have left its scars, But he’s a warrior still, beneath the stars. Each day he rises, though heavy it feels, He carries the weight, but he also heals. Through the darkness, he finds a way, To see the dawn of another day. He speaks of his pain, his burdens shared, With those who’ve walked where no one dared. And in their stories, he sees his fight, A brotherhood forged in the darkest night. The soldier knows his battle won’t cease, But step by step, he’ll find his peace. For the strongest warriors, it’s always true, The hardest fight is the one within you.
