Now, in the quiet, the darkness stirs,

A war of shadows, relentless, it purrs.

Thoughts like whispers, sharp and cold,

Telling stories he wishes weren’t told.

Why am I here? What’s left of me?

He asks the void no one can see.

Yet deep in his chest, a light remains,

A spark of strength through all the pain.

He fights these shadows with every breath,

Refusing to yield to the grip of death.

The battlefield may have left its scars,

But he’s a warrior still, beneath the stars.

Each day he rises, though heavy it feels,

The battles we fight within are sometimes harder to overcome in a different way. Your words reflect your intense struggles but it is good to know that your inner light can dispel the darkness. A very powerful and touching poem. I really love it.
