The Illusion of Love

The Illusion of Love

A Poem by Israel 🇵🇷
"

This poem explores my emotional disconnect in a relationship where a man’s vulnerability is disregarded, and the woman prioritizes material gain over genuine love.

"
He tried to speak, to share his mind,
But met a wall, cold and unkind.
Open up, she’d often say,
Yet turned her back when he obeyed.

His pain dismissed, his worth a chore,
While she just sought a life of more.
No love, no care, no deeper vow
Just comfort dressed in hollow now.

He learned too late, her heart was tied
To ease and wealth, not what’s inside.
And so he closed, his trust now gone,
A lesson learned, and he moves on.
