This was inspired by the 10 word challenge- I had to write a poem incorporating- "vase, water drop, throat,pollen,stain,ambush,wood,casualties,surprise,silence"..phew!..it sure was good anecdote to "writers block"
The wilted flowersIn the stained wood vaseTrying to soak in the last water dropNo pollen or humming beesLooking at them I feelA constriction in my throatA sudden ambush of faded memoriesI look back in surpriseAt the casualties my emotions have sufferedAnd silence reignsA desolate silence that resonates inside.
So gentle and beautiful presentation of grief or loss. My wife died in December 2007 and I have had much help from good people and have learn to deal with the pain. I will always have moments though when something I look at tells me of my loss. These are beautiful pictures you have chosen that in themselves say so much. Thank you for sharing your talent.
Yes, it is that echoing silence that gets you every time and the parallels drawn here between the wilting flowers through neglect is wonderful by way of explaining the 'dry, empty heart'
This is as always a lovely piece of work, heartfelt and true in every sense.
Cheers,

What a spectacular presentation of the words you were asked to use for the contest. Your poem never gave away the fact that you were using requested words. The flow and beauty of your poem doesn't show anything forced, like many poems that are written with word specifics.
There is a heartfelt and sad romantic story tucked away within your poem written with beauty.
All the best in the contest! This is truly a work of art with words and your photos with it are perfect.

The comparison of your life to wilted flowers in a stained wood vase gives this write a feel of desolation and despair...maybe hopelessness. So sad....in a world where dreams die. But for every door that closes, a new one opens somewhere.

This is sheer brilliance the way you have breathed life into those couple of words ... they portray a myriad of emotions... Excellent work
Wow, absolutely stunning poem. I could not fault anything about this.
Excellent work, beautifully presented with those lovely graphics.
The 10 words woven seamlessly into the write.....everything about this
write was top class. Good luck in the challenge!
Flickering and blazing, not yet blown out in the wind...
