Rummaging...

Rummaging...

A Poem by Candle in the wind
"

Just while flicking through some times gone by.......

"

Rummaging through old phographs ...messages...letters

Sharing anecdotes and incidents

Laughing together on fond recollections

Or smiling by my self alone

Eyes glistening with unshed tears

Or uncotrollable sobbing

Or just waves of nostalgia

Wistfulness or regret

Kaleidoscope of images

Snapshots...scenes replayed

Reliving happiness

Or a  vicious cycle?

Myriad moods get unleashed

In my trips down memory lane

I am very happy to see you writing something after quite sometime. Quite frankly, you haven't lost it, they're as great as they have always been.

Pictures carry on its tags in our brains, either we identify with the situation the picture was taken (thus bringing out all our emotions and memories) or relate to a picture we see (the ambient memory is tagged here, thus, letting us experience the situation in a similar stage). This also gives us a good feel, especially if the cultural colors are emphasized. Pictures in other places, like good paintings, bring us to that place or vacation while we are elsewhere. Pictures have a wonderful way of traveling through time and space. It goes against the law of physics :)

Great form, great use of words (I always loved your word choices), well painted imagery, very well imparted message.

A very good piece

Simple short and interesting a snapshot of "recollection" and the effect it can have on us. I sort of feel this is in someway incomplete ? And aam left wondering is there is anymore to say on the subject ?

This is very elaborate; the language had me feeling excited and surprised. It's great to see something you're not expecting. unshed/Wistfulness

The images extended my imagination and I could sense and see the Kaleidoscope of images, the snap shots of moments flashing before my eyes. This becomes cleverer the more I think of it.

Excellent creativity here...

A memory mostly lasts till you want it to last.... But a picture lasts longer than you last.
Memories make you cry, make you laugh, it makes you hate some and it also makes you hate yourself for the unsaid and undone things in the past

Pictures bring back old days, and you feel as if you just came back from a walk from those old alleys.
Lovely write...and lovely images.

I actually chuckled at this as your sense of humor comes to the fore so clearly. It can be a vicious cycle. I try hard not to look at memories in the form of photos because they usually make me cry, most of the people in them have gone to God! I should be happy for them shouldn't I? *grins* I'm glad your writers block has vanished! I loved this because, like all your work, it is so personally touching and you bring us all into the living room of your home...thank you...

"Myriad moods get unleashed
In my trips down memory lane"- This line for me out stands the entire piece, it's so deep and true...

Brilliant usage of language and also the flow is so well maintained throughout!

Old photographs, letters and messages gives us the precious memories which we cherish till the end of our lives..
Very deep and thoughtful work ! :)

What a powerful poem describing with every detail how it can be when "Rummaging" through our old photos and thoughts of times gone by. Fantastic writing is the result of your words when you recount the good and the emotional times. None go by without us noticing their place of joy or pain in this play called life. Exceptional writing!

It is nice to remember people from our past but we should never regret things as everything happens for a reason sometimes it is beyond our understanding and we are left with only questions but we have to remember it had to have happened for some reason. I like the heart that was felt here among your word and the truth of your soul that was exposed here.

Beautifully Done!~!!!!!
